Our goal is to illuminate the dark side of the internet. We aim to protect cultural-focused digital spaces from getting in the hands of the bad guys. Our ancestors think you should too.
For multicultural citizens contributing to shaping our democracy, protecting digital land, and our information environments, is an imperative defense act for combating the inception of dangerous misinformation and hacking. At the frontline of this fact-backed theory is a concerned cultural advocate and communications advisor, Janice Torres-Perez, of The Brand Phoenix.
In preparation for the 2024 voting season, she preserved key web domain names geared to the Latine voter by taking them off the internet auction block—yanking sites from the reach of potentially nefarious and anonymous entities preying on data to create a divide.
These titles include Latine.vote, LatineVote.org, LatineVote.com, LatineVote2024.com, Latine.us, and others.
“My platform is dedicated to preserving for the deserving," said Torres-Perez about her unique approach to Digital Investing Advocacy (D.I.A.), a term she coined describing what she does for communities she cares for via digital real estate.
With the stewardship of these online estates, she plans to donate them to vetted non-partisan organizations aligned with good nature towards U.S. Hispanic voters. Non-partisan for-profit brands are eligible for acquisitions and platform collaboration if values align and their investment in the community is empowering, authentic, and widely respected.
Torres, who is based in Brooklyn, and has extensions in Tampa, encourages people, clients, and all parties, not to leave their digital spaces unattended. In 2020 she received training at PeaceTech Lab, an organization started at the International Institute of Peace, which creates training and framework to stop the spread of violence and misinformation online. She was tapped to support the group's International Peace Honors with publicity and talent booking.
